The performance is divided in two main sections: one for DSP and acoustic guitar with four algorithmic compositions and one for improvised electric guitar and objects
The algorithmic compositions: "Terra", "Astronauta", "Luna", "Crononauta"
Astronauta
I used PD (Pure Data) for the audio processing, and a series of gestures are contemplated.
The PD indications: For 1 BT Anker A7910 speaker or similar, or 2 BT Anker speakers connected to AUX on sound card. One speaker remains on the table, the other is set upon the strings of the acoustic guitar to generate feedback.
GESTURE SEQUENCE:
I. leave on speaker on the table, place the other one on the strings of the acoustic guitar, create minimal feedback extremely controlled.
II. Move the speaker near the bridge up to the neck very slowly and listen to feedback.
III. Start to manage feedback with the filters / eq on the acoustic guitar (B/M/T)
IV. Play with the speakers ad-lib (use to tap muted strings, move closer together and away to generate and manage feedback, place speakers on guitar body).
Improvisation: prepared electric guitar and objects
I prepare the guitar with metal clips, springs, variously sized steel plates through the strings, using also chopsticks and steel washers as percussive objects.
I usually have a fixed sequence to start with and then change during the piece.
In this particular event I use a few expression pedals and a pedal looper instead of my own built Pure Data "effects" (I'd rather say processed signal).
